IN HOUSTON

Made it to Houston. We drove down using a Garmin we bought last weekend. Following the directions from the Garmin, we went down 69, which put us a desolute turnpike south of McAlester. The turnpike dumped us off on Texas 19, which took us down until about 120 miles north of Houston, where we connected on I-45. Bypassed Dallas altogether. Ten hours from portal to portal, which wasn't too bad considering we hit Houston right at 6:00 p.m..

Further good news. We have wireless internet in our room, and I'm watching the Cardinal game right now. Kims' in tears over the miracle of watching Cardinal baseball in Houston.

Our "hotel" is across the street from the main building of M.D. Anderson. The hotel is owned by the hospital (sponsored by Rotary), and is connected to all the buildings in the complex by a common skywalk. Nice restaurant, deli, bar (for saucing of the liver prior to resection), gym, pool, etc.. Pretty nice place.
